My Name is Garry Williams and I live in a little market town called Banbury which is 30 miles north of Oxford. I have lived here for what seems forever but as a child the family moved around quite a bit due to my step father being a farmer.

I have been married to my wonderful wife for over 37 years and we have twins Tammy & Aaron.

Work wise my main profession is that of a children’s entertainer a job which I have been doing for over 35 years and which I love as much today as I did when I first started all that time ago. When I am not causing chaos on stage somewhere I do also help out at a local Funeral company driving the vehicles so between these two jobs I have to fit my carping in as and when the chance pops up.

I have fished since I was 7 years old and mostly self-taught and by doing a lot of reading and listening to people far more experienced than me especially Julian Cundiff who has been a massive help to me (thanks buddy). I remember when I was 10yrs old the family used to live in Stanton Harcourt and across the road from our house is now Linear Fisheries!!!!! How I wish I lived there now.

It was when I was 10yrs old and fishing the gravel pits opposite my home in Stanton Harcourt I met and became great friends with a guy named Pete.

I fished a lot with “Pete” and I did learn a massive amount from him and I always looked out for his old Morris Minor estate. The family moved “again” and it wasn’t until after this move I found out that the helpful gentleman named Pete who had helped me so much was non other than angling legend Peter Stone!!!!

Time passed and after many moves and jobs we ended up living in Banbury and it was whilst working at Thames Water I discovered fishing again and caught my very first carp of 5lb at a local reservoir on floating crust.

That was it had to be Carp and it has been ever since.

I am now on a private syndicate water which is only 8 miles from my door so very easy for a couple of hours wandering with a stalking kit or a full blown session.

Kind regards and have a good un’
